A Note About Online Glasses Purchases
Should you choose to purchase your glasses online, the online company will probably ask you to obtain “PDs and seg height” from someone locally. Unlike the refraction prescription which can be used by any optician to make glasses, the PD and seg height measurements are specific to the glasses being manufactured. These measurements, therefore, must be the responsibility of the dispensing optician.
When we provide the critical measurements for a specific pair of glasses, our opticians assume responsibility for the optical quality of those glasses. Unless we provide the final glasses, we cannot be assured that our measurements are appropriate for the glasses being made and will be accurately applied. If we provide the glasses, we guarantee the results to your satisfaction. If we don’t provide the glasses, it is our policy, for the reasons stated above, to NOT provide PDs and seg height which should be provided by the dispensing optician.
